Fontana National presented by MAXXIS opens the 2008 National Mountain Bike Series with a record number of athletes...the 25 year anniversary of the National Series.

The debut of the 2008 domestic mountain bike race season was a phenomenal success - well over 1200 athletes enjoyed perfect race conditions at the Southridge Park venue this weekend. Over 90 professional men race cross country - close to same number of professional downhill men tested themselves on the famous Southridge downhill track. Huge amateur fields, a large expo and an amazing number of spectators marked the beginning of the 25 year anniversary of the National Series.
